About Us

The Acoustics and Vibrations Laboratory of INCDT COMOTI continues the research in the field of acoustics and vibrations, activity that started three decades ago in INCREST, The Aviation Institute from Bucharest, from which the laboratory inherited the infrastructure and equipments. In the last two years the laboratory bought the best equipments existent on the market, of high performance, equipped with specific soft for data acquisition and post processing.

The laboratory personnel is composed in majority of young researchers, well trained professionally, dynamic, showing great interest in the field of acoustics and vibrations, which is very important for the environment protection and human health.

The Acoustic and Vibration Laboratory is in process of accreditation (on SR EN ISO/CEI 17025) by RENAR and it is involved in national and international programs regarding the noise emission limitation.

HISTORY

ACOUSTIC WORKS IN THE FIELD OF AIRCRAFT PERFORMED IN THE ACOUSTIC LABORATORY

1. Absorbing noise of the engine jet, by using a secondary air jet.

2. Noise life tests for the IAR - 93 air intakes

3. Airfield noise measurements at take-off and landing.

4. Determination of vibration and noise pressure in VIP cabins, in airplanes and helicopters

5. Determination of absorbing coefficient of noise absorbing materials in aircraft.

6. Experimental research to reduce jet noise on SPEY engine.

7. Industrial silencers in heating stations:

- Jet noise absorbers SILENCE - COANDA
- Jet noise absorbers T 20 - T 260
- Jet noise absorbers AZ 20 - 60 - CONEL - Bacau
- Jet noise absorbers for surge valve ASAP 21 - 00 - Suplacu de Barcau
- Jet noise absorbers for testing set-ups
- AZ 17 - 00 - Adjud

8. Noise absorbers for the ST 18 Pratt & Whitney and AI 20 engines, including:

- vented sound proof enclosure, provided with noise absorbers at venting air inlet and outlet, with shut-off systems in case of fire at vents;
- noise absorbers on air inlet;
- noise absorbers on burnt gas outlet.

9. Noise absorbers for engine testing set-ups, including:

- noise absorbers on air inlet (10m x 10m inlet cross section lamella noise absorbers);
- noise absorbers on burnt gas outlet (tubular noise absorbers).

10. Studies on noise absorbers for different end users, such as SIDEX, Galati, PORTILE DE FIER II, etc.

11. Acoustics measurements on the Henri Coanda airport for the CFM-56 turboengine.
